Oh Joy! Feeling Inspired again!

Well, I'm all better and as you can see, I've been pretty busy! This weekend Earl and I moved some furniture around and now the Crafting Center is all contained in my giant armoire:
I love it! I've come to learn that the kids really do appreciate this too- now when they have a school project or a birthday card need, they just help themselves. So, even though the Christmas crafting did not live up to my expectations, this has been a great addition to our home. And it looks so much tidier in this cabinet than on the open shelves.
First, a clock from the thrift store that has been turned into a "seamstress" clock with the addition of some vintage sewing notions. This is an AOL free CD box that I've re-covered. Pretty slick, eh? Carmen and I are working on a birthday gift for my little step granddaughter who just turned 15 and loves everything black and white checkered. Carmen is working on some Kindgom Hearts artwork that we will place in the box, pop up style. And while in this paper mood, I made this tiny (3"x3") accordian type book following this great tutorial. I bpught all these cute papers and stickers from the Dollar Tree eons ago and it makes me so happy to see it all put together. I still don't have a baby, but do you think a nice grandma might buy this as a little brag book if I put it in Etsy?
Lastly, here is a cute nameless girl. She is made for the very young girls and I want to list her for a bargain price at Etsy, but she must have a name! Will you help me name her? She is about 18" and she is made of knit fabric and is very huggable and nice.
Whew- I love gettin' busy! Hope you are all enjoying yourselves too!

  1. I am very glad to see you are well and happy.
I love everything you have been working on. The clock is fabulous and I love the book and cd box too. Of course it goes without saying that your doll is once again gorgeous.
As for a name I'm not sure. How about something like Maisie, Molly or Millie. Short and sweet.
I really need somewhere like your giant armoire!

  2. Well if you just aren't one of the craftiest women I've met than I don't know who is! And I am lovin the green color of your room-it made me smile :) A very happy color.
Thanks for coming by my blog, come by as often as you like! Visitors also make me smile :)
And to answer your question-I'm unsure why my Mom calls me 'face'. I should ask her! But for as long as I can remember, she has always called me face.
    Enjoyed your blog!

  3. Hi Bettsi, you busy beaver! Is your new dolly's name possibly Ruby or Rhoda?(She does seem to favor the red palette) Sandra

  4. ugh...could you share some of that inspiration with me?

I'm lagging behind in my own projects as well as projects for clients.

my morning sickness isn't too bad, but its definitely stealing what little motivation I had...thankfully I'll only have about 9 more weeks of it...
I agree with the above poster - the doll looks like a Ruby.

  5. Glad you're feeling better, Bettsi.
Your organizing and crafts look great. I think that little girl should be a Sarah or a Jenny!

  8. Hi. Your dolly reminds me of Milly Molly Mandy so I whould pick one of those cute names or perhaps lengthen them back to their Correct form eg. Millicent, Mary or Amanda.Congratulations on your crafting centre. It always feels so good to have the house tidy, doesn't it? You were very clever with your clock. I might just copy your idea with one of my old ones. Thanks

  9. Oooo wow that's spine tingly I was going to say Molly and read the above comments. Big fan of the Milly Molly Mandy books too.

So glad you're well Bettsi. Love your craft cupboard. I don't like seeing clutter even though I'm working on it. Probably one of the reasons I don't like too many projects on the go at once.

  10. Hi Bettsi, thanks for visiting my blog! I love your EFA with the crown, so cute. I really want to make one for myself before I get too old to sew! I think you should name your doll MARTHA!
    Wishing you a great day,
    Martha
