Crafty Diversions

I hope all the mamas out there had a lovely Mother's Day. Ours was rather low key since Earl has been suffering from a very bad headache since Friday. He was just diagnosed on Thursday with episcleritis and then he got hit with this headache. It might be that the swelling of they eye is pressing on some nerves. Of course, it could be a sinus infection too. I think I might have one of those! Friday afternoon he got a shot of something from the doctor for the headache which created a very bad allergic reaction late Friday night. Anyway, we took it easy this weekend, to say the least!

The children and I did a lot of crafting though and that was fun because as they get older, these opportunities become more rare. We spent time Friday night sewing little sock kitties. These were Carmen's own design. I was having camera problems so I didn't get any photos, but I will soon.

Saturday I introduced Eric to this great book that was recommended by Vicki at Turkey Feathers. He went to town! Look at what he made for me for Mother's Day:Here are some close up shots:
I am so impressed! And he was so proud of himself! He actually made two necklaces for me, one for his sister and one for Aunt Deborah. I want him to make a bracelet for me now!

Max had a science project that was overdue so we finally got our fannies in gear and got it done! We made a model of a cell with salt dough. Here's Max with his exhibit:He worked so hard on it! I was really proud of him. I guess it's been a while since I made a batch of salt dough because it was a novelty to Max! I told him I'd make more tonight so he could have some fun with it.

That's it for us! I look forward to seeing what everyone else has been up to. Earl just told me he has another dr. appointment this morning for his eye. Apparently it's clouding up now. Please keep us in your prayers.

  3. Hi Bettsi- Thanks for your nice comment on my post...You too look far better than you probably think. My mom always says "If you think you look bad NOW just wait til five years from now!" Oh, what a positive thought, huh? Guess the point is we may as well enjoy the moment while we're in it. :-)
