Time for a little coveting. Look at what Princess Nimble-Thimble made! She made this for a swap. Oh, how I wish it had been me to receive it. It is a stunning doll, Dannielle! The redwork makes it extra special and I love the little heart cushion. I definitely think Hitty needs a little pillow like that. Dannielle used the pattern for the Old Fashioned Doll in Edith Flack Ackley’s Dolls to Make for Fun and Profit.
One of my favorite things about all dolls, but especially cloth dolls, is their tactile quality. I love the feel of dolls in my hands. I hope I am not weird and alone in this. They just feel so nice. I love their tiny little arms and legs. The feel of their finish, whether it’s painted or left soft. The details in their clothing. All of these nice things cannot be gotten from a photograph. And I must say, Dannielle’s doll looks very, very touchable!
Happy Weekend, Friends.

It means the world to me that you like her! :)
ReplyDeleteI was organizing my supplies yesterday and ran across some fabrics that are crying out to be worn by an EFA doll. I may have to make a couple more very soon. lol.
Would it make you feel less oddly if I admitted that I like having dolls all over my house because I imagine they're watching the goings-on of the household. The little girl in me is positive that they move around and speak when I'm not looking.
Happy Weekend to you, Bettsi!
ReplyDeleteI love your love for dolls!
You are a doll :)
