On the home front, I've done all the holiday decorating I'm going to do, I think. Our house is tidy and nice and the whole family has been working together to keep it that way. I just don't feel the need to add more. Well, I would like to make some button wreaths and a nostalgic Christmas village, but if we don't get to it, I'll be okay with that. I recently saw (I wish I could remember where because I'd love to link to it) a wreath made entirely of vintage glass ornaments. This particular one was all pink! I have a lot of aqua ones, but I'm not sure where to begin. So pretty, though! Might have to file that thought away until next year.
On the big dining room project, we have had a bit of progress! Earl built my desk!!!! It's wonderful! I know I just said my house is tidy and this photo doesn't look tidy, but remember, it's a WIP. Thanks to Dannielle's suggestion, I think I'll be using unbleached muslin for most of the drapery projects in that room. Affordable, soft-looking, neutral and easily obtained! What's not to love? If I find a perfect drapery fabric, it will make a great accent. Perhaps this weekend I'll be able to at least skirt the desk and make blinds for the windows above it. Still need to paint the desktop too. Okay, I'm laughing at myself! I'm pretty sure I'll not get to these projects this weekend, but I can dream, can't I?
I hope you all have a good weekend and find lots of joy!
Can't to see what you've got up your sleeve for the big dining room project. The desk's great and looks to be twice the size of mine. Lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteProgress! I love that word! And your desk is great! Josephine
ReplyDeleteI am *C R A Z Y* about babies. Just ask my husband. I updated my blog and my baby girl is in the pix, back row, 2nd from 3rd from right. Some day I will post a pix of my kitchen and how it needs a new facelift! In a bad way!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Bettsi, I see some dollies on your desk. Who are they & have we seen them before? Do tell! Josephine
