Uh, I forgot to post yesterday. I guess that's why this NaBloPoMo thing is called a "challenge", eh? Oh well, I've decided that I'm going to post for 29 out of 30 days in the month of November! I decided I had to share my WIP. This is going to be a
Doctor Who scarf (two links there) for Carmen as a Christmas gift. She and I both love the current show, but she's even getting into the old series too. I'm super excited about this project! I'm not a big knitter at all, but I can manage scarves. Carmen is going to love me forever and ever when she sees this. I got the pattern from this
site. It claims to be the official BBC pattern, but I'm not following it exactly. My first screw up was in casting on too many stitches! Please say that you think 12" is a fine width for a ten foot long scarf. (You better because I'm not ripping!) The stripes are pretty random which I like, but here's my question- do you think I should cut the yarn for my tassels now and put them aside? I felt sure that I had more than enough yarn, but what if?
I guess it's the season for it, but it seemed that every blogger on my bloglines was knitting or crocheting! Like a pack, we are! Can you hear the collective click of our needles? After Christmas I have a big crochet project I want to get to:

This great granny square afgan is from
Gooseberry Patch. I want one that has some meaning so I guess that means I'll make it myself! Cute, huh?
Ooo, pretty scarf, pretty afghan! I think 12 inches is fine, she can always fold it in half to wear it, if 12 inches flat is too big. And you're right, it is really long, if it were too skinny it wouldn't be right.
ReplyDeleteHi Bettsi! Thanks for complimenting onmy sock! You know I found www.knittinghelp.com to be an invaluable resource! Looks like you don't need much help though, that Dr. Who scarf is awesome. My hubby is a huge fan and has been begging me to make him one as well. Are you going for the full length?
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! Yes, I'm going to try and make it as long as possible! I'm about 2 feet into it now. Hmm, 2 down, 8 to go!
ReplyDeleteOoh, Dr Who. I was explaining the plot to someone who couldn't grasp it. LOL I wanted my Dr Who scarf to wrap around their neck.
ReplyDeleteCool Present.
