Hello, hello! Did everyone have a lovely Thanksgiving? We certainly did! We spent the day with my brother, Jonathan, and his wonderful wife, Deborah. Such a feast! She made an awesome apple-cranberry pie that Carmen declared "the best pie ever". We also played a round of Trivial Pursuit Young Players Edition. Note- this game was from 1984! Rather a silly game! It was fun, but next time we're playing Scrabble.
I have declared that we will not be putting up any Christmas decorations until Decemer 1st. It seems that so many people used this last weekend, but I needed some recovery time before digging into those boxes. My children had all last week off and my house has paid the price. We are getting things back into order, but we're not quite there yet. I have to buy a new belt for my vacuum since someone in my house tried to vacuum up a sock and burnt the belt out instead! So, as you can see, we have a little prep work to do before we get into decorations!
But once we get to it, it's going to be a lot of fun! I'm not planning to do anything new, but I am looking forward to seeing all the little sentimental pretties again. I have a lot of vintage ornaments that are from my childhood and it always pleases me to see them. If I were to do something new, I'd love to do something like this. Hillary and her husband, Tim, did this two years ago and I've never forgotten it. I love decorations that look good in the night and in the day and this certainly fits the bill. So, so cute!
I always felt we decorated for Christmas a little too early in our house - traditionally, the first Saturday of December. But those crafty bloggers out there really got a jump on things, eh?!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of vacuums, ours met a similar fate a few weeks ago when I mistakenly sucked up a doll shirt. Good thing we have mostly hardwood floors!
Happy decorating :-)
PS - Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble are our favorites
Yay for Scrabble! I played one game on Thanksgiving Day and 2 games the next day.
ReplyDeleteWell, honestly, the only reason I got my Christmas decor up so fast is because I'm hosting the "appetizers" for a progressive dinner on Sat. A little early, yes. But now it's done.
Have Fun!
