This morning I had to drive up to the county seat in Auburn to get a readable copy of a deed (yes, this is the kind of glamorous job I have!). When I left Roseville it had just finished raining and was a little overcast. As I drove up the mountain, the weather was increasingly icky. By the time I got to Auburn, it was very foggy and wet and quite scary to drive in! To make it worse, when I got to the County Offices, there were pedestrians hiding in the fog! A white knuckle trip, to be sure! Happily, I didn't run over anyone and as I made my way back into my flatland, the sun came out. The sky now is a lovely shade of bright blue. Even though our office is in a light industrial park, I'm fortunate enough to have a window wall and along the street past the parking lot are some tall fir trees. Here's the view when I turn my head:

So, I'm grateful for the sunshine and grateful for a safe drive and trying not to worry too much about dental woes. What are you grateful for today?
I am grateful for my sinus infection finally showing signs of going away.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful that my voting actually counted for something!!
ReplyDeleteYou gotta really watch out for those pedestrians. I was waiting at a stop sign to cross a one-lane bridge when out of nowhere came a group of Cornell track & field runners. Had I not looked to my left again before stepping on the gas, I surely would have hit at least three of them. They were just inches in front of my van - talk about good luck! Cornell students are NOTORIOUS for walking (or running) without looking. There's always some debate going on in Ithaca about cars vs. students.
Ah .. gratitude. We've had the most gorgeous Fall, ever, in So. Oregon. The colors have been spectacular. What came to mind while running at 5:30 am today was how well my kids are doing (ages 14,12,10). Kids go in and out of seasons of joy and success! It's a good season for them right now. And .. I'm glad I didn't get hit by a car! Cuz there is one corner that the cars go whipping around!
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful I found your blog through the NaBloPoMo Randomizer! Cheers!
