Some randomness

I am working on the dress for Elaine's Little Girl and I'm thinking about doll buttons. I could make them from polymer clay, couldn't I? (Oh! That reminds me of something my dear Carmen used to say when she was little. Everytime she used a sentence that would normally end with "aren't I", she would say amn't I? For example: "I'm a good girl, amn't I" How darling is that?! And if you think about it, it's correct. We say "I am", not "I are". She's amazing.) Anyway, about doll buttons: if I roll a thin sheet and cut the buttons out with a drinking straw, that should be the right size. Note- I must remember to make the holes large enough to run a needle through. I'm sure lots of dollmakers know this method, but I feel as if I just invented it! I'm very clever, amn't I?

Also, I just joined up over at Etsy. I listed a couple of things if you'd like to see!

  1. I've heard of people doing that and it's a great idea. I've made buttons from leather and felt- cut out the circles with a hole punch. I'm sure there are lots of ways to make cool buttons!

  2. You could also try shrinky dink paper for buttons too.
